  • Paid plans renew automatically through Apple until you cancel.
  • Founding members keep their locked rate for as long as their subscription stays active.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and LOWDOWN (“LOWDOWN,” “we,” “us”). By using the LOWDOWN app or lowdown.chat, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What LOWDOWN is — and is not

LOWDOWN helps you interpret and respond to messages using artificial intelligence. The output is a suggestion generated by AI models. It can be wrong, incomplete, or not right for your situation.

LOWDOWN is not a substitute for professional advice. It does not provide therapy, counseling, or medical, legal, financial, or other professional services. It does not create any professional relationship. You are solely responsible for what you say and do based on LOWDOWN’s output. If you are in crisis or need professional help, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use LOWDOWN, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you are under the age of majority, you may use LOWDOWN only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

4. Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Tell us promptly at support@lowdown.chat if you suspect unauthorized use.

5. Plans, subscriptions & billing

  • Free tier. A limited number of decodes per month at no cost, with no card required.
  • Paid plans (Plus and Pro). Billed through your Apple account on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, as selected).
  • Auto-renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Managing & cancelling. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
  • Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple’s refund policy. We generally cannot issue refunds directly.
  • Price changes. We may change standard prices. Changes apply to future billing periods and, where required, with notice and your consent.

6. Founding-member offer

The founding-member offer reserves a discounted Pro rate for the first eligible members. By joining the waitlist you agree that:

  • Joining the waitlist does not charge you. We email founding members a link to activate the offer when the app launches.
  • The founding rate is locked for as long as your Pro subscription remains continuously active. If your subscription lapses, the founding rate may no longer be available.
  • Founding spots are limited and offered on a first-come basis. The offer is personal to you and not transferable.
  • We may end or modify the offer for new sign-ups at any time. This does not affect the locked rate of members who have already activated it.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use LOWDOWN to:

  • Break the law or harm, harass, deceive, or stalk anyone.
  • Process content you have no right to use, or that violates another’s privacy.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or build a competing service from our outputs or systems.
  • Interfere with the service, bypass usage limits, or attempt unauthorized access.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of the text you submit. You grant us a limited license to process it only to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you submit and for how you use the results.

9. Our intellectual property

LOWDOWN, its name, design, and software are owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose. All rights not granted are reserved.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the output is accurate, reliable, or suitable for any decision you make.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LOWDOWN will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or reliance on — the service or its output. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold LOWDOWN harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using LOWDOWN at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

14. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Where permitted, you and LOWDOWN agree to resolve disputes through binding individual arbitration and waive participation in class actions. Nothing here limits rights you cannot waive under the law where you live.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here and update the date above. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
